Juno Overview

In this article, we will introduce you to the network.

Juno is a permission-less interoperable smart contract network that automatically executes, controls, or documents a procedure of relevant events and actions according to the terms of such contract or agreement to be valid & usable across multiple sovereign networks.

Juno as a sovereign public blockchain in the Cosmos ecosystem aims to provide a sandbox environment for the deployment of such interoperable smart contracts. The network serves as a decentralized, permission-less & censorship-resistant avenue for developers to efficiently and securely launch application-specific smart contracts using proven frameworks and compile them in various languages Rust & Go with the potential future addition of C and C++. Battle-tested modules such as CosmWasm will allow for decentralized applications to be compiled on robust and secure multi-chain smart contracts. EVM support and additional specialized modules to be enabled after genesis subject to on-chain governance.

The Project Development

The Juno Network had its decentralized launch on October 1st, 2021. It launched by distributing tokens to staked $ATOM holders only, based on a snapshot of CosmosHub-4 (Stargate Upgrade) going live in February 2021.

The last missing piece to complete the Juno core network architecture came to mainnet via the Moneta upgrade on December 15th, 2021. The CosmWasm 1.0 smart contract module opened up the path to innovation and adoption on Juno and provided the Cosmos ecosystem at large with a powerful environment for smart contract deployment.

This January the network launched JunoSwap. It is now in Beta with 11 projects from the Cosmos featured on it. There are currently no incentives on the DEX but that will change in February with the launch of $RAW. JunoSwap is governed by the JunoSwap DAO which is in charge of shaping the future of the dex. RAW will be the governance token of the DAO and will be used to incentivize the Liquidity Pools on the DEX.

Juno Team

Juno originates & evolves from a community-driven initiative, prompted by dozens of developers, validators & delegators in the Cosmos ecosystem. The shared vision is to preserve the neutrality, performance & reliability of the Cosmos Hub and offload smart contract deployment to a dedicated sister Hub.

Hundreds of independent Cosmos ecosystem contributors are working on the Juno core network, independent dapps, tooling and more.

Here are the members of the Core-1 Web3 infrastructure development team:

(Strangelove Ventures)

JUNO is the native token of the network that carries a variety of use cases within the ecosystem such as:

Securing the Proof of Stake network

On-chain governance

Transport fuel (gas) for all interoperable smart contracts deployed in the ecosystem

Collateral in various smart contract use-cases

Work tokens to capture value from dapps built on the Juno Network

Juno Network is a 100% community-owned and operated smart contract platform. The majority of the initial supply did not have a token generation price as they were stakedropped to ATOM holders that contributed to the community pool and development reserve for ongoing developments of the network.

Comprehensive $JUNO tokenomics

Juno as a layer 1 smart contract network solves the first generation smart contract bottlenecks which are limited scalability, high cost for deployment and execution and offers an easy environment for developers across the globe to deploy scalable, secure decentralized applications efficiently.

About Citadel.one

Citadel.one is a non-custodial Proof-of-Stake platform for the management and storage of crypto assets. Users can create public addresses for all supported networks with one seed phrase, connect their Ledger or Trezor device, or import an address generated by another wallet.

The analytical dashboard provides relevant information on wallets’ balances and networks’ main metrics. In Citadel.one, we standardize the semantics, making interactions with the platform as easy as possible. The same goes for network metrics. By using universal terms, we are making it easier for users to understand and compare networks.

One of the main functions of the Citadel.one platform is participation in the PoS consensus — users can stake and delegate their assets, claim rewards, and follow the latest network proposals in the voting tab.

Citadel.one offers its users instant cryptocurrency exchange services that allow fast and secure crypto assets swap. It is also possible to buy and sell crypto with a credit or debit card. Citadel.one users can track rewards, withdrawals, transfers, and deposits across all supported networks and add comments to these transactions.

Among PoS platforms, Citadel.one supports BAND network ($BAND) Secret Network ($SCRT), Cosmos ($ATOM), ICON ($ICX), IOST ($IOST), KAVA ($KAVA), BSC ($BNB), Juno ($JUNO), Comdex ($CMDX) and Tezos ($XTZ). We also support Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Tether ($USDT) for our users’ convenience. Mobile and desktop versions, new networks, including Polkadot are scheduled for the upcoming updates. Furthermore, delving into the idea of true decentralization, we envision Citadel.one a decentralized autonomous organization and a genuinely community-owned platform in the nearest future.
